L&P Wines & Liquors
Old Fitzgerald 14 years
Color: Rust. Fairly light for 14 years old.
Nose: Tons of oak and barrel spice. Notes of dried caramel, mint, pepper, tobacco, leather and cinnamon. Doesn't have any sweet or fruity characteristics on the nose, very dry and mature.
Palate: Low proof sting and medium to thin mouthfeel. Tons of vanillin contribution from the time in the oak. Notes of marshmallow, honey, toffee and butterscotch. This is really tasty stuff and reminds me a bit of Michter's 10 (2018) but with a little extra oak and proof.
Finish: Fairly short and thin. A touch of cinnamon spice and more oak on the very tail end.
